Green The Film
Her name is Green, she is alone in a world that doesn't belong to her. She is a female orangutan, victim of deforestation and resource exploitation. This film is an emotional journey with Green's final days. It is a visual ride presenting the treasures of rainforest biodiversity and the devastating impacts of logging and land clearing for palm oil plantations.

END:CIV
END:CIV examines our culture’s addiction to systematic violence and environmental exploitation, and probes the resulting epidemic of poisoned landscapes and shell-shocked nations. Based in part on Endgame, the best-selling book by Derrick Jensen, END:CIV asks: “If your homeland was invaded by aliens who cut down the forests, poisoned the water and air, and contaminated the food supply, would you resist?”

What Rain Forest?
When bulldozers came to the ancestral lands of the Iban, in the Sarawak region of Malaysia, Segan Anak Degon stood up to defend his land. Today Segan is the the only person out of 101 families whose land remains unaffected by the oil palm that swept through the region. What Rainforest? is a 36-minute documentary about his struggle.

When the Plantations Came
A moving 30 minute documentary produced in 2001, showing how people's lives are affected by the woodchipping plantation industry in Tasmania. Interviews with those living on the land - organic farmers, retirees and others - about how the clearing and poisoning of land affects them directly, and with people such as eco-tourism operators who tell how sustainable industries are put under threat by the destructive practices of large forestry corporations. Images of the incredible beauty of wild forests in Tasmania are contrasted by the devastation and plantation monocultures that threaten the bio-diversity of this region.

Battle for the trees
It is a complex battle being fought on many fronts--in corporate board rooms, in legislatures, on the streets, and in the woods. The weapons range from million-dollar public relations campaigns to quiet acts of civil disobedience. At stake are the last stands of old-growth coastal forest of British Columbia, which are being clearcut at an increased rate every year. Soon they will be gone forever. The soldiers are ordinary citizens, scientists, loggers, environmentalists, and Natives who are witnessing the liquidation of our public forests and, with it, a way of life. This important film examines the battle strategies of both sides, and offers some practical solutions that balance economic needs with the preservation of the ancient forests. If the battle for the trees is lost--and all of the old growth is clearcut--the silence on the barren hills will be a monument to the victory of corporate interests over public process. This documentary examines the battle strategies of citizens, scientists, loggers, environmentalists and First Nations people who are fighting over the liquidation of public forests and, with it, a way of life.

Tatras, One year after
Tatras - the highest and most popular mountain range on the territory of Slovak Republic. It had become a national symbol and it was here where in 1948 the first Slovak national park was established. On 19th of November 2004 a powerful whirlwind of extreme wind speed blew over, and on the area of 12.500 hectares uprooted 3 milions of trees. Once the new situation emerged, disputes broke out between the economical behefits and nature conservation, which should be prior concerning the importance of such protected territory. Even in the areas of highest level of natural protection the logging begun. Such being the case, the natural processes and mechanisms of forest regeneration were disrupted...

Dirty Oil
Deep behind-the-scenes into the strip-mined world of Alberta, Canada, where the vast and toxic Tar Sands deposit supplies the U.S. with the majority of its oil. Through the eyes of scientists, ‘big oil’ officials, politicians, doctors, environmentalists, and aboriginal citizens directly impacted by ‘the largest industrial project on the planet today,’ the filmmakers journey to both sides of the border to see the emotional and irreversible toll this ‘black gold rush’ fueled by America’s addiction to oil is taking on our planet.

Blind Spot
Blind Spot is a documentary film that illustrates the current oil and energy crisis that our world is facing. Whatever measures of ignorance, greed, wishful thinking, we have put ourselves at a crossroad, which offers two paths with dire consequences. If we continue to burn fossil fuels we will choke the life out of the planet and if we don't our way of life will collapse.

THE CLIMATE HAS ALREADY TIPPED
New science from the American Academy is frightening. Carbon emissions way up. Horrible climate news from around the world. Plus: scientist V. Ramanathan says Earth has already warmed 2.4 degrees - but it's hidden by atmospheric smog. Will an industrial shut-down bring on a sudden heat wave?

NO RAIN IN THE RAIN FOREST
Interview with author Nikolas Kozloff, author of "No Rain in the Amazon: How South America's Climate Change Affects the Entire Planet." IS CLIMATE CHANGE UNSTOPPABLE?
Univ of Utah Assoc. Prof. Tim Garrett says carbon burned = civilized wealth. We must either construct a reactor a day, or experience harsh economic collapse, to have a habitable climate

CLIMATE, WEALTH, & ENERGY
University of Utah Physics Professor Dr. Tim Garrettexplains why fossil-based wealth leads to both hyper-inflation and a ruined climate. From peer-reviewed paper in Journal "Climatic Change". Only a sudden economic collapse could save us from 5 degrees Celsius global temperature rise by 2100. And we'll get over 100% inflation.

THE LONG THAW - DAVID ARCHER
